It is an incredible story with an expected and sad ending. I can’t imagine how a woman can feel witnessing all that. As you said, this people have a very different idea of what is the role of the women in the society, and it is pointless to explain to them not only the physical, but also the psychological damage that this cause in the abused women. The problem is, that many of those woman (at least part of them) are agree with this kind of behaviour and they can not conceive another way, for some reason, this treatment makes them feel “protected”. This makes me think, what should change first, the men’s behaviour or the women’s beliefs?

Also they have been successful at portraying her as a “vatan haini”. At this moment I don’t really know what to think.

Btw, I first read the news here this morning: http://www.habervakti.com/?page=news_details&id=38224 The headline is really sexist and made me very angry: “ne ogrenci, ne de evli”… since where are you supposed to HAVE to be married to become pregnant!?
